Assessment

We offer a three part NICE guidelines and Royal College of Psychiatrists approved ADHD assessment protocol.

Part One

Initial assessment: 30 minutes

We discuss your current experience, developmental and family history and current experience of ADHD informed by screening items.

Part Two

Diagnostic interview: 2 hours

We use a Royal College of Psychiatrists approved diagnostic interview protocol to explore your experience of attention deficit, impulsivity and hyperactivity, both at present and during your childhood. You will need to attend this session with a significant other i.e. sibling, partner, parent, long-term friend, so as to offer corroborating information to the questions asked as part of the interview.

We use the findings to write your report and liaise with experts in the field ensure the professional rigour and validity of your diagnosis. This report will include your diagnosis status and therapeutic recommendations. This report takes 2 - 4 weeks to complete

Part Three

Report discussion meeting: 30 minutes

We meet with you to discuss the findings of the report; you will have received this prior to the meeting. This meeting offers you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the findings and recommendations.

We offer both assessment and treatment at Cannon Street ADHD Centre

Therapy

We offer psychological therapy for people with a diagnosis of ADHD which focuses on understanding your strengths and challenges, and finding processes and systems to better live your life.

Medication

We work with a number of psychiatrists specialising in ADHD, and NHS GPs, to support you with seeking pharmacological support.
